Passion fruits rich in vitamins C are one of the most welcomed fruits all over the world. This is currently the best season for enjoying passion fruits. Passion fruit lovers in Xingyi don't have to buy expensive fruits in the supermarket, because now Xingyi has its own passion fruits orchard.
In the passion fruits orchard in Xingyi, there is a shelf approximately 1.8 meters high on the slope which is covered with green vines. The unripe passion fruits are right under the green leaves.

According to its orchardist, Chang Hong, when the fruits turn red, they will pick them and leave them for a few days, before reaching the perfect time to taste the delicacy. The inside fruit pulp is sour and sweet with a special fragrance.
Passion fruits are native to southern Brazil through Paraguay to northern Argentina. It can be eaten directly or added into drinks. In the past, Xingyi didn't have orchards for passion fruits.

In Southwest Guizhou, there are only a few orchards planting passion fruits. Chang Hong is one of them, who started planting just last year. With a year of careful nurturing, Chang's orchard has become the first one to plant passion fruits in Xingyi.
Apart from passion fruits, there are lots of other fruits like cherries and loquats in Chang's orchard covering more than 2000 mu. He has more than 10 permanent staffs and more than 30 seasonal workers who have contributed towards the success of the local farmers.
