Construction of Guian Railway Station, which has continued for the past one year and 10 months, entered its final decoration stage on Feb 1.
Expected to be completed in the first half of this year, the station will become the second largest high-speed railway station in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The station is located at Xinmin village of Huchao town in Guian New Area, the eighth national-level new area approved in 2014. The area is positioned as an economic hub in the center of Guizhou.

Covering a floor area of approximately 80,000 square meters, the station has four platforms with eight railway lines for its first phase, two of which are reserved for passengers traveling between Kunming, capital of Yunnan province and Shanghai.
"With coordinated efforts, the station project has overcome a lot of difficulties and applied some new technologies during construction," said Zhou Jia, deputy-head of the project's engineering technology department.
Zhou also disclosed that the Guian station is in the process of applying for a provincial quality award and has passed on-site checks. The Guizhou Quality Awards are presented annually for projects applying new materials and techniques in the province.
It is expected that dozens of bullet and high-speed trains along the Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway will operate from the Guian station upon its completion. It will also be used by the under-construction Guiyangbei-Nanning Railway.
