Three bridges in Guizhou - Zongxihe Bridge, Beipanjiang Bridge and Wujiang Bridge - recently won the Lichun Prize (2016-2017) at a highway construction summit held in Hefei city, East China's Anhui province.
Named after the famous engineer Li Chun, who designed and built Zhaozhou Bridge during the Sui Dynasty (581-618), the Lichun Prize is the highest honor a highway construction project can receive in China.
The prize has strict requirements in terms of engineering scale and technical level, and eligible projects must be of the highest quality.
Zongxihe Bridge, located above the Zongxi River in Nayong county, has a height of 270 meters and a length of 928 meters. It is the largest steel arch bridge in Guizhou province with nearly 100,000 tons of steel being used in its construction.

The Beipanjiang Bridge stretches high above the Beipanjiang Grand Valley on the boundary between Fa'er township and Yingpan township in Guizhou province. With a total length of 1,261 meters, it is the longest slant legged steelwork bridge in Asia with a total cost of 430 million yuan ($62.47 million).

Located in Tenglong Valley Scenic Spot in Sinan county, the Wujiang Bridge is a key project along the Sinan-Jianhe Highway and has the longest main span among the bridges. It stretches 2,167 meters across the Wujiang Valley and won the Luban Prize for Construction Projects (2014-15), which represents the highest standard of China's current construction quality.
