Should grandparents be paid for babysitting?

I don't think it's wrong to pay grandparents if it's full time. However, I think it's weird that grandparents actually ASK for money. I'm lucky because my parents are the type to want to do things for people without getting anything in return. My mom is going to babysit for me full time while I go to school/work. My parents say "why pay for day care when you have grandparents at home that can do the job for free?"

They want me to save up my money so I can provide for my baby, but I will find ways to pay them back in the future when I can to show my appreciation for all they do. I guess it depends on the type of family you were raised in.
